Serving the people of Ticknall

I have lived in Ticknall with my husband Chris for 9 years. We have 6 children, all of whom have mostly left home, and 3 grand children. Since moving to the village we have tried to fully embrace what it has to offer. I am a member of the Coffee Club team, Secretary of Ticknall22 WI, I was on the Jubilee Village Event Committee and on the Coronation Event Committee. We are members of Ticknall Garden Club and I support the Ticknall Play Group by taking my young grand children along. We also support all the village events that we are able to, from our fantastic village Produce Show and Christmas quiz to the village fete and other fund raisers.

My working background is in food technical management, working with all the major food retailers. This has certainly given me a wide range of skills which I believe would be extremely useful as a Parish Councillor. I have good communication skills and am very used to problem solving, questioning and being flexible, adaptable and open minded. Becoming a councillor will be a rewarding and privileged form of public service enabling me to give something back to the community that I get so much pleasure from. I will be in a position to represent the local community and to make a difference to the quality of people's daily lives in the parish by delivering services to meet local needs.
